ÃÛÌÒAPP
Equality of opportunity and equity of outcomes for both staff and patients is extremely important for ÃÛÌÒAPP Hospitals. We are committed to being honest about how we are doing and intentional about where we need to make improvements or change.
Improving people’s experience is not just the right thing to do, its essential to our culture, our performance and to maintain trust. We continue to take a reflective and transparent look at our data, culture and systems to better understand the barriers that exist and how we can do more.
Like many NHS trusts we face challenges in achieving representative leadership and addressing barriers that colleagues experience in progressing their careers. These are not isolated issues, they reflect wider patterns of concern, and we are committed to taking meaningful, sustained action to make changes.
By listening to people’s experiences, being honest about progress and holding ourselves accountable, we will create a more inclusive, respectful and fair culture where everyone can thrive.
In summary, we want to ensure that people have the same opportunities to access the best possible health services and outcomes, and are treated with dignity and respect always, taking consideration of individual circumstances.
Our aims:
- Promote equality in healthcare and, in collaboration with partners, respond to the needs and wishes of patients and their families.
- Ensure services are accessible, user-friendly, and provide personalised, supportive care.
- Empower our people to deliver high-quality care, recognising their contributions, whilst support their development and reward.
- Strengthen our reputation as a centre of excellence in teaching, training, and research, and deepen partnerships with local universities and other organisations.
- Secure and manage resources effectively to deliver value for money.
- Address the communication and operational challenges of a large, diverse, and technically complex organisation.
- Build on strong teamwork and shared purpose to support evolving models of healthcare delivery.
- Take a systems approach where everyone is treated with dignity and respect – prioritising equity in health outcomes.
